[DID NOT ATTEND: March 31, 2022] Genesis Owusu / Pachyman [moved from to January 26, 2022]
Genesis Owusu plays music that my wife and I at first thought was kind of weird and funny and eventually decided was just super fun.
He had to postpone his tour in January but he moved it to March. I had gotten more interested in seeing him by this time, but it was a very bust week with several shows before this and one right after. So, since I wasn’t that interested, this one was given a miss.
Pachyman is Pachy García, a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and musician. Since 2019, Pachyman has released five albums of predominantly dub reggae. I’m not a huge fan of dub reggae, but I enjoyed his songs quite a lot. The vibe is chill with that great bass line. Maybe I like dub more than I realized.

This show had been rescheduled for March of 2022 after two previous cancellations. But with the rise of more COVID cases Fu Manchu decided to cancel once more. It strikes me that they seem quite content to just cancel a show and then work with the venues for a future show, so I’ll assume they’ll be back to Philly eventually.
