[DID NOT ATTEND: January 4, 2025] Stinking Lizaveta / Darsombra / Eye Flys
For reasons I don’t entirely remember, I’ve added Stinking Lizaveta to the list of bands that I’d like to see.
I think what inspired me to check them out is that they are an instrumental band who play complex music.
And this is the third or fourth time that I am not seeing them. The main reason for this is because I rather enjoyed not going to shows for a while. And I didn’t want my first show of the year to be a band that I didn’t really know all that much about.
But I would like to see them some day.
I love the description of Darsombra
Featuring composer Brian Daniloski on guitar, bass, and vocals, and filmmaker Ann Everton on synth, vocals, percussion, and projections, Darsombra is internationally known for walking the line between glam-prog-psych-stoner metal and site-specific installation performance art.
I mean this sounds like a band you have to see live. But their music is kind of fun too–weird and psychedelic and pretty much everything else too.
I’m putting them on my gotta see live list.
Eye Flys are from Philly and they are purveyors of heavy sludge metal. I feel like they don’t quite fit with the bill, but maybe they do.
