[POSTPONED: March 12, 2022] The Black Angels / L.A. Witch [moved to…]
I really got into The Black Angels with their 2013 album Indigo Meadow. I’ve recently been enjoying their Live at Levitation vinyl.
They’re just one of a bunch of younger bands who are exploring psychedelic music in a heavier vein than the original psychedelic bands. And I like it a lot. Plus they are supposed to put on a trippy show.
I mean, their post says
HERE is an incredible show. It will shock and amaze you.
And a poster would never lie.
Of course, as omicron cases were on the rise , it was no surprise that on January 13, Union Transfer posted this update:
The band has decided it’s best for everyone involved to move their tour to a bit later in the year. Their Philly show for January 28th has been postponed to a new date to be announced later this year. We are in the process of confirming new dates w/ them right now and will send out those details in a few days.
I don’t know L.A. Witch but Wikipedia says
L.A. Witch is an American garage-rock trio formed in Los Angeles, California in 2011 Sade Sanchez (vocals, guitar) and Irita Pai (bass), the band’s sound has been described as a “mix of forlorn psych folk, lethargic lo-fi blues and boozy garage rock drones steeped in moody, drugged-out surf reverb.”
That’s the kind of thing I probably wouldn’t like on record but would enjoy live.
