Edmonton Folk Festival 2009 (Part II)

I don’t have any news to add about the Festival yet; however, I just learned that I could add a map to my blog post, so, here’s a map to the Festival.

I was also looking at the lineup for last year’s Festival, and although there’s only a few artists signed up for this year so far, last year’s lineup is pretty impressive.   There were 70 artists altogether, including (band links are to the Festival’s site):

Michael Franti & Spearhead
Jian Ghomeshi
Aimee Mann
Joan Osborne
The Sadies
Ron Sexsmith
Martha Wainwright

Pretty cool.  These are some of my favorite artists.

The 2009 Edmonton Folk Festival

Back in November, I promised a faithful reader that I would provide updates about the upcoming Edmonton Folk Festival. I secretly hope I can go to it although realistically, getting to Edmonton from New Jersey for a concert seems pretty unlikely.

The festival is August 6-9th.

And, just to make myself jealous, here’s the first batch of confirmations:

These are just some of the bands appearing.  And I so wish I could go.
