[ATTENDED: September 28, 2025] Doechii-–All Things Go [Day 3]
Her stage was designed like an overgrown jungle. A backdrop of trees and on the stage all kinds of greenery–trees and shrubs and platforms covered in green carpeting. It looked great.
At long last Doechii came out on stage She was wearing a gray blazer and crazy long white finger nails.
She stood on the tall platform and rapped her songs. I don’t know any of her songs and had no idea if she was doing one long song or (as was more likely and true) a whole bunch of short songs.
In between songs she hyped her DJ Miss Milan who hyped her back. Doechii also showed off her moves, with wicked dancing.
Some of her beats were more fun for me than others. I enjoyed Bitch I’m Nice, which had a great beat and interludes as well as fun interjections from her DJ Miss Milan. Miss MIlan made me laugh because it seemed like she was primarily a hype person–“make some noise!”; “it’s Doechii!!”
There was quite a reaction for NISSAN ALTIMA. Her platform lowered and she climbed down to stage level. She took off her blazer and revealed a gray one-piece, which allowed her to shake her ass even more.
They played a sample of America Has a Problem (by Beyonce) and Doechii asked if she could freestyle (yes, she can).
Doechii then left the stage (I know it’s part of the act, but I couldn’t believe she left after ten minutes) and DJ Miss Milan took over getting hands in the air and asking if we had a good time. Doechii came back pretty quickly–I assume to drop off her blazer–and returned for Alter Ego. This one was a real banger.
And I have to say the crowd loved every single second of the show. And why not–Doechii knows how to get a crowd hyped up. And you just can’t take your eyes off of her.
She said Persuasive was her favorite song–it was slower and you could really hear the words. It has a good groove and lots of hand waving.
For BOILED PEANUTS her platform rose again and there was hand bouncing galore. She played an early song BULLFROG and then her DJ said they had to start it again which they did.
Doechii left the stage again and DJ Miss Milan took over–she may do more work than Doechii. Then she came back out in just her white bikini to started GTFO. AS the song ended, climbed back on her platform and did some really impressive dance moves.
I really enjoyed Anxiety–she sang and had a really good voice. And used a sample of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used to Know. She followed it with a heavy metal sample that opened Swamp Bitches (I’m think I might enjoy her older stuff more).
Oh and Boomfy walked near us between songs so we got a picture which was fun.
For her big hit DENIAL IS A RIVER, she had a fun intro asking who has been cheated on and then who then wrote a song about it and is rapping it in front of everybody. I appreciated that Miss Milan did the q&a part with her instead of just having the recording play.
During BOOM BAP, she walked around to the audience and grabbed peoples phones and took selfies (which was pretty cool). Although I also realized when she said her debut album was coming out soon (even though she just won a Grammy).
She said she had to leave but came back a minute later and said she could do one more song. She threw her shoes off and started dancing like crazy. She stopped the song and shouted to DJ Miss MIlan to Do Balloon. Do Balloon.
They played Tyler, the Creator’s Balloon and she rapped along to some of it. Doechii and her DJ Miss Milan came to the front of the stage and danced and high fived the audience. It was really sweet.
I also need to shout out the Festival for having interpreters for every artist. I really enjoyed watching them because they all really got into it. I also couldn’t imagine how exhausting it would be to do ASL for really fast rappers, especially the songs that probably don’t have traditional signs (although watching the interpreter sign Get the fuck out was pretty enjoyable)
It was a such a weird show (so much hyping!) and so unlike anything else at the festival. The energy and excitement were palpable. And Doechii has undeniable star power.
As the show ended we heard her say I lost my ring and then the whole crew took to the stage to look for her ring. I wonder if they found it.
So she was originally slated to headline the small stage. Would she have had more time? I’m not sure. But I’d say she had a much bigger crowd here.
And after that we were done and we headed home. Exhausted but very satisfied with a fun weekend.
