I Just Read About That…

[DID NOT ATTEND: July 31-August 2, 2020] Newport Folk Festival

We went to Newport Folk Festival in 2019.  We’ve had a kind of understanding that we would try to go again.

I’ve managed  to score tickets for previous years (and then resell them when we couldn’t go).  But this year I was shut out instantly.  Which is fine as the festival often conflicts with our summer schedule.

It’s always fun to see them slowly roll out who will be playing at the festival.  As we can sit and bemoan who we wouldn’t get to see this year.  or feel good that we didn’t want to see them anyway.

We usually can’t go on Friday anyhow, but WOW  look at the Friday lineup

Guster, Black Pumas, and Hozier!  I would have also happily seen Wednesday and Muna (although Munda overlapped).

Saturday had The War on Drugs, but I could have skipped that day.

Sunday had Tinarwen and De La Soul which would have been fun, but probably not worth the hassle (because Newport is definitely a hassle).

So, maybe we could have grabbed Friday tickets and then headed home.
