I wondered long and hard if I should have a special Christmas post this year. Last year I posted about my most favorite and least favorite Christmas songs. And this year I thought about posting about my favorite Christmas special episodes, but we didn’t watch that many this year, so that may have to wait until next year. Then I wondered if I should write about a Christmas book, or if I should completely ignore the holiday. Or maybe write a wholly inappropriate book review (no, that I saved for tomorrow).
Well, leave it to Tim and Eric and solve my dilemma for me with their Chrimbus special.
Chrimbus is Dec 5, so technically, this is not the right day to celebrate, but since this is the first year of Chrimbus, I wanted to get the word out on that other holiday that happens in December.

When Tim and Eric introduced Chrimbus on the Jimmy Kimmel show (watch part two of the interview below), they explained it is a “lunch holiday” celebrated during the lunch hour. The highlight of Chrimbus is when Winterman comes. Winterman inspects your Chrimbus bush. If your bush is trim and wet, Winterman will give you a present. Part One of the interview features their core-strengthening exercise routine.
But watch Part Two below to learn about Chrimbus.
Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job is usually 15 minutes, so how do they pad it out to an hour? Well, first by hawking the DVD. That’s right, the DVD of the show you are watching is available throughout the show with
increasingly more psychotic pledges for you to buy it.
There’s also a visit from Dr Steve Brule and Tairy Green (who has a fight with the voices in his head). And lets not forget the introduction of the new character DV, the Cha-Ka-like creature who is able to magically provide a DVD of the show to everyone (and who has a Very Special part to play in the show).
But the real heft of the special is the short film A Chrimbus Carol. In this multipart segment, Carol, the preposterously shaped and padded office worker who lusts after her abusive boss finally snares her man, and they are very happy together. But this makes her miserable. How will Carol and Mr Henderson keep their hurtful love alive? Will a Chrimbus miracle occur? Well, with Tim and Eric you just never know.
This special is no less bizarre than the series (I mean look how they’re dressed…and their teeth…and their hair and…). Many was the time that Sarah and I looked at each other and wondered “Who in the world thinks of doing that?” Sarah also believes she had crazy nightmares after watching the show, and I wouldn’t doubt it.
So, happy Chrimbus everyone, keep your bush trim and wet!
